Bellefonte is the County Seat of Centre County, Pennsylavania and features many examples of Victorian architecture, as well as a natural spring from which the town gets its name.

The Borough of Bellefonte retained Weber Murphy Fox to provide services necessary to undertake several Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) funded activities.

CDBG Streetscape Improvements were pedestrian focused. Goals included: Improving the visual appearance of streets to provide a quality setting for residents and business, providing an safe accessible pedestrian focused, friendly environment, and preserving and promoting the unique character and historic significance of Bellefonte.

A “tool-box” of pedestrian amenities for public park improvements and streetscape enhancements was assembled to accomplish these goals including: sidewalks, crosswalks, street trees and landscaping, lighting, banners and site furnishings.

DCNR Community Conservation Partnerships Program funds applied to the Talleyrand Park Expansion provided for a new accessible Pedestrian Bridge, walkways, special event areas, LED site lighting, benches and native vegetation. The completed project improves park accessibility and provides opportunities for more pedestrian linkages between the waterfront district greenspaces and the central business district.

The Park Expansion or “Greens” was officially dedicated during the Fall Festival on October 24, 2010.
