Weber Murphy Fox, Inc., a regional architectural firm, is pleased to announce the addition of Theodore Thwing as a Professional Intern in the State College office. Theo will provide BIM production services for an expanding range of interdisciplinary project types.  He will support project teams, consultants, and clients through all phases of design and construction.

Originally, from Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Theo Thwing received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lehigh University in 2005 and a Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) from Penn State University in 2012.  While at Penn State, Theo worked as a research assistant at the Hamer Center for Community Design and as a teaching assistant for design and writing intensive landscape theory courses.  He also had the opportunity to travel to Tanzania to work on social and environmental design issues for communities adjacent to a newly established national park.  Theo’s masters project focused on green infrastructure design and planning for postindustrial communities.

Prior to attending Penn State’s MLA program, Theo worked at Michael Graves Design Group in Princeton, NJ, as a model maker, where he created prototypes for products sold at Target, as well as architectural and city planning models presented to prominent figures around the world, including the president of Senegal.  Theo also worked as a sculptural fabricator at the Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ, where he produced large scale sculptures for contemporary artists throughout the United States.  While working at WMF’s State College office, Theo is pursuing registration as a landscape architect through the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB).
