Key 93 Community Athletic Facilities
Titusville, Pennsylvania
Funded by the Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund Act (1993) this cooperative phased project included several athletic facilities for use by the Titusville community and School District. The Ed Myer Recreation Complex is now the City’s major recreation area.
Services provided for the renovation of athletic fields, addition of three new soccer fields, tennis courts, sand volleyball, and three new baseball/softball fields complete with fencing, dugouts, batting cages and warm-up pitching mounds. A new 400 meter all-weather track and field with bleacher seating was also added. New support buildings house changing rooms, public toilets, a first aid station and concessions.
Buildings were developed with a common palette of low maintenance materials and elements to create continuity across the different venues. Managed by the District, accessibility and public safety were primary design considerations.
