Anna L. Childe, RA, LEED AP
Principal
Ms. Childe is an Architect and Principal, managing our State College Office. Having practiced with firms in State College, Philadelphia, Canada and Japan, Anna brings an international perspective to her design approach. Anna has taught in the Department of Architecture at Penn State, as well as being an invited design studio jury critic at several universities in Canada and the United States. Embracing sustainable design as critical to future generations, Anna is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional.
Anna is engaged in her community serving as chair of the Occupational Advisory Committee for the State College Area High School Architectural Drafting and Design Program and is a member of the Board of Directors and Facility Committee of Discovery Space, a children’s science museum in State College.
Anna is our “what if” designer. She is constantly pulling and pushing design solutions to evaluate how the solution will impact the users of the buildings she designs. This determination drives her to find the best possible solution for her clients.
“Our job as designers and client advocates is to continually ask “What if…?”. This is a powerful string of two simple words to start a discussion. Assessing the opportunities and constraints that the question generates helps to form our final design and achieve my client’s goals.”
