CLIENT GOALS

ECHO Health, Inc., a fast growing payment solutions for healthcare payers, vendors, employers and providers, was in search of a new space to lease. They were leasing approximately 11,000 square foot of space in two different buildings within the City of Westlake. The desire was to stay within the City of Westlake and the search for available space to lease took a unique turn when they decided to purchase an existing building rather than lease. This allowed the flexibility to renovate the existing building layout to create a fit plan that complemented their vision. The plan required a three-phase construction approach in order to relocate existing tenants into alternate locations within the 55,000 square foot building prior to renovating the contiguous open plan for ECHO.

SOLUTIONS

Their new home brings together several departments under one roof, in approximately 20,000 square feet, resulting in a more collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Our client desired a “wow” space for their employees. The building shell offered opportunities to transform the current space which had a dropped ceiling at about 9 feet throughout, into an exciting space which highlighted the steel structure, taking advantage of the high volume of space. Various size conference areas, both formal and casual, are equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual systems. The employee breakroom was designed to encourage casual encounters throughout the day and large enough to hold full staff related events and meetings. Another unique design feature was relocating a 687-gallon, 8,300-pound saltwater aquarium from their existing location.

The use of large frameless glass panels provide transparency and visual connection between all the individual departments, promoting the collaborative environment and culture of working together.

RESULTS

A vibrant and creative work environment balancing new architectural with existing industrial architectural features was created by accentuating light filled spaces, floating ceiling planes, large accent walls of vivid colors, high ceilings and exposed steel beams and joists. A balance of open work areas, private offices and strategy/conference rooms and collaborative areas are distributed throughout the facility.
