CLIENT GOALS

The existing competition facilities for football and soccer were in a state of disrepair.  The scope of the project was to develop a new facility for interscholastic football and soccer on an existing practice field with an all-weather track. 

SOLUTIONS

The design solution provided home side bleacher seating for 2,500 with a 1,400 GSF press box including two scouting boxes and two video top platforms.  Visitor side bleacher seating for 1,000 was added as well as a new sound system, scoreboard, and field lighting.

The project also included an 8,000 GSF field house located under the home side bleachers.  The field house houses two team locker rooms for sixty players, associated shower and toilet facilities, plus referee facilities and storage.

A concession stand was constructed at a location, which also allowed this building to include four ticket windows and public toilet facilities.

The materials and roof geometry for this project were selected to reflect the materials and forms of the adjacent High School and Middle School buildings.

RESULTS

Mr. Fox [WMF] has been our school district's Architect and Construction Manager since 1991, completing five major projects...In his role as our Construction Manager, Mr. Fox and his firm have been able to provide our School Board with early and accurate cost estimates and schedules, enabling us to effectively plan for the financing of these facilities. All of the projects were done while maintaining ongoing occupancy and use of the existing facilities with successful attention paid to the safety and the functional needs of the District while construction was in process.
