Building on the strength of the University's nationally ranked programs in Gaming & Virtual World Development, and Animation, Edinboro needed to address facility needs to launch an eSports Program. The University targeted Fall of 2019 for the team to begin play in the National Association of Collegiate eSports (NACE).
To assist the University in launching its eSports Program, WMF created a design approach utilizing existing space in Hamilton Hall. Designed in accordance with National Association of Collegiate eSports guidelines, the facilities will include a 25-seat competitive gaming area, a viewing room with soft seating, and a welcoming lobby. Storage is configured in a series of cubbies along one wall.
WMF worked collaboratively with the University's staff to create the design renderings showcasing the University's newly developed branding graphics for the eSports team.
Although the space is not yet active as a competitive collegiate eSports arena, this project is a natural resource to help shape and build on the University's nationally ranked programs like Gaming & Virtual World Development, and Animation.
